My name is Peter Chan K.Y

My uncle, the late Mr. Lee Kam Wah (my mum's eldest brother who was a photographer) had induced me into the wonderful world of photogaraphy when I was a kid. He took beautiful wedding photos for my parents and also those unforgettable family photos. I still could remember well how he used the lolly-pop sweet to attract butterflies for our wonderful shooting hours.

Then I started to take photographs since my teenage when my father bought me a Kodak 127-format camera. Those years I used to take black and white.

I started to explore the world of color-film only in 1980s when Penang was still a duty-free port at that time. Before Penang demolished its duty-free port status, my parents got me a Ricoh 500G.

At the age of 15 , I got more serious and my parents bought me a Ricoh XR-1 with  50mm and 200mm lenses. It was my first SLR. I participated in photography contests too.

When my wife gave birth to our eldest son Adam, I bought myself a Canon 1000F.

And in 2004, I hopped into the wagon of digital SLR. 

As I mentioned in my Welcome page, I love Light as it brings color to our life. Black and white are colors ya!!

I hope you do enjoy like me to capture and record those moments of colorful life as light passes over us day-by-day.
